We were so bummed to miss out on Broadway Bootcamp this past summer, we are bringing it to you virtually again this Spring! Broadway Bootcamp is a dynamic program designed to build and improve the self-confidence of participants through musical theatre performance. Participants are encouraged to focus their energy in a creative manner and explore expression through acting, music, and movement.

Broadway Bootcampers learn the basics of musical theatre performance and choreography to perform excerpts from popular Broadway shows. It is a high-energy, engaging experience for anyone, no matter their level of stage experience. In this virtual class, we will begin with a warm-up and game followed by learning musical theatre choreography to a variety of showtunes selected by the class.

Instructor Background: Jacqui started Broadway Bootcamp in the summer of 2010 and has enjoyed sharing her love of musical theatre with hundreds of students across West Michigan ever since. In addition to teaching Broadway Bootcamp, Jacqui teaches dance and yoga for other local organizations and schools for students in preschool through 12th grade. She is entering her 5th year as the Theatre Director for Muskegon Catholic Central, and is looking forward to the challenge of putting on a spring musical during a pandemic!

A musical theatre inspired singalong for kids 5 and under and their caregivers. Broadway Babies gives caregivers the opportunity to expose their children to music by participating in an interactive class. This class will be virtual with the goal to meet outside over the summer.

Please know that there is no right or wrong way for how your child is meant to behave or act during this class. If they want to sit and watch, they can sit and watch. If they want to get up and dance, join them! If they want to eat, sleep, screech, or anything else... that is okay, too. When they are present they are still able to absorb the music, listen to new words and rhythms, and allow their senses to begin to appreciate music.

Parents, do not worry about what you look or sound like. Our children learn from watching us and you will be muted, so please sing along!

Instructor Bio: Jacqui has enjoyed sharing her love of musical theatre and performing with hundreds of students across West Michigan. She attended Grand Valley State University and earned her undergrad degrees in Elementary Education, English, & Theatre. During that time, she spent a semester studying theatre at Kingston University in London, England in 2013. She returned to England in 2015 to earn her Master’s degree in Theatre for Young Audiences from Bath Spa University. Between degrees, she spent a year working as a Cast Member at The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
